Poated this in C55 Tech:
Anyone familiar with VCM Performance cams? Their 224/232 on a 114.5 - VCM 5SC cam looks interesting as a baby blower cam. Don't know if they have stateside dealers or not. Strangely they don't list email contact on their web site. Would like to talk to someone with knowledge of this cam.
Got nothing but crickets. Anyone in here familiar with VCM Performance cams?
I am sure they have a great product but why would you try and get a cam from Australia when there are plenty of people in the states that can get you the same cam or just knowledgeable as VCM. You are going to spend more money and time trying to get their cam. There is no secret technology to cams. Just have to get a cam that matches your setup/build.

exactly what I was going to say. Unless youbreally want to tell people you got the cam from Australia

I understand no secrets to cams. Been working on the small block Chevy for about 40 years. Just happen to like these particular specs and don't see any American mfg making this spec cam. I know I could get a custom cam to these specs. Just wanted info no flame. Don't want to brag about an Ausie cam. I posted for productive info. If you can't be positive in your reply don't bother.
Americans could make absolutely any spec cam you want...and given the millions of these engines out there...there's little doubt there are no unique camshafts either.

I wasn't being negative. I was just baffled as to why you trying to find out information about a shop on the other side of the world, on a product that is common and easily reproduced by any number of vendors. Since you clearly know better than me with your 40 years experience, keep doing things the hard way.

I take it English is not your first language!? At this point I'm just sorry I asked the question. For some reason a few members of this forum can't read and properly interpret a question. I didn't ask for opinions or questions about my motives or references to American cam grinders. I just want to know if anyone on the forum had info about or has had dealings with VCM Performance. I don't know how a simple question can bring up such negative emotions and off the subject comments. Guys it it's a simple concept - read a question and if you don't have the answer then just simply don't reply.
