Default New PB and 1st time into the 8's with my 99FRC

Last Friday some friends and I went to a private rental at Morocco Indiana put on by some guys from LS1 tech.
I went there to try to run my first 8 sec 1/4mi pass and was successful running in the 8's on 4 of 5 passes and ending up with a PB of 8.71@158

T1 off the trailer put a lot of power in it and it spun, ran 9.30@156
T2 backed it down and ran my first ever 8 sec 1/4 mile pass 8.83@157
T3 put a little more power into it: 1.33, 5.63@125, 8.73@157
T4 added a little more power: 1.31, 5.61@126, 8.72@158 (New PB as a driver)
T5 tried to speed it up more but it spun to a 1.40 and still ran 8.90@157

Here are a couple videos:

Congrats, looked like the passes were easy and no drama.

What kind of power did it take to get in the 8s with this combo?

Really well done!! We all knew it was just a matter of time for you to break into the 8s. And you did so with authority!

It did spin on the 1st and 5th passes, but I don't have any good videos of those, but on the passes it didn't spin it's so smooth and straight my mom could drive it.

It made 918 on our Mainline hub dyno, through unlocked convertor in the 4L80.

Thanks man! 3700rpm and 12-14pi boost. Tried more RPM and it spun, tried less boost and it was slower (see thread about previous trip to the track with 60's in the mis 1.4x's) I think it will take more launch boost and more RPM too with more suspension tuning :-)

I thought so too, but I just needed to get that 8 sec monkey off my back. I honestly thought that first 8.83 was another 9.0 it was so smooth right down broadway.

The blue targa hasn't made any single digit quarter mile hits yet?

Nope but sure holds that half mile record nicely. Making it a dig car too, set the half record within a small time of finishing the car. Now I'll focus on 1/4
