Default My Cx racing LS1 single turbo build

So I wanna start of by saying that this build was inspired by @Ls3c5 I was looking for a some what budget build and the Hinson kit was just to overpriced IMO. I just used the hot parts coated by chromex from the guys at gsd coating in nj and the intercooler/ radiator kit from cx racing. Here are a few pics from start to finish.

This was my previous setup. Non intercooled Maggie running 5lbs of boost.

Ripped everything apart. New knock sensor, LS6 valley cover mod (had to grind down inside the block that was scary lol).

Bottom plate that the radiator sits on.

This is the was the intercooler sits for now. I plan on cutting into the front crash beam to make it sit further back. Due to time constraints this will do for now.

Test fitting the hot parts before chromex coating and the valve covers before getting smoothed out.

Intake manifold, valve covers, fuel rails, and ID1050x injectors all on. Radiator and condenser as well.

Manifolds back from coating and on.

Turbo parts on. Ball bearing turbo so it's oil and water cooled.

Also ran a gforce oil cooler from ebay. Bottom right, very nice kit.

After bleeding the air from the radiator she drove like a dream. Took her out on a 75 degree day and she stayed at steady 194-196 degrees.

A few things I plan to do still but she is up and running in time to enjoy the spring and summer here in jersey.
for those wondering in running a simple turn down for now. Also had a buddy of mine use hp tuners to reflash the ecu so I can drive the car for now. When I go tune I will post up numbers.

Looks like a clean build. When do you plan to have it tuned?

Did you have to modify any of the kit? Are you automatic or Manuel? What turbo you running? Did you have to run an oil scavenge pump?

I had to cut the stock front radiator cradle and make a bar moved further back to hold the new radiator on the bottom. Also had to order a 4inch coupler for the intercooler pipe going to the intake. The 3inch one in the kit is to small. I'm running a 6466 turbo. No savage pump. I removed the oil level sensor on the passenger side of the oil pan and ran the oil return line to that hole. It's a -8 to -10 adapter and then just a -10 90 elbow to return line. It works perfect and I didn't have to drop the pan.

You haven't had any oil drain issues like this? Seems like it may be to low on the pan and you would have oil backing up in the hose. I've always put my drains as close to the top of the pan as possible so that the oil in the pan doesn't cover the drain port.

Cool! Glad to see another Ls3C5 inspired CXRacing C5 turbo kit build!

I also did a similiar build using CX Racing Headers, although I fabbed up my own charge piping and radiator.

Looks awesome, nice job!

Where did you get the exhaust manifolds, piping, IC, etc.? Only saw C6 on CX Racing's sight. Same stuff?

had the MAF deleted by my tuner when he flashed my ecu. running a 3 bar map sensor and high pressure IAT sensor. Here's the link where I got it from http://www.hawksmotorsports.com/lsx-threaded-iat-intake-air-temp-sensor-w-screw-in-bung/
