If I get sent to ref, I'll have a lot more problems. The only reason I have them is to trigger the OBD monitors and stay legal. It's such a stupid law with zero practical application - hence VW cheating it for so many years. At least with the tailpipe probe, they could see whether the car was polluting.

no bueno. The percentage of folks that monkey with vettes is pretty small, as is the pollution. I'm hoping for an E85 emissions exemption. I'm all for that~!! And measuring emissions rather than lying data traces DOES make sense.
not what they do now. Measuring what's really going on costs too much and again, not that many people monkey with it. They go the big fine approach as the next way to enforce compliance.
Let me show up to a sniff and pass clean. If that happens, all good. Not rely on monitors coded out and turned off.
