Default LS2 Throttle Body + Dyno

I finally fixed many of the issues that I encountered over the last couple of years, that other shops couldn't figure out. Like MAP sensor, pins touching each other causing intermittent electric short, injector harness causing misfire, missing wastegate bolts, loose bolt from exhaust manifold, loose turbo exhaust clamp, fuel pump overheating due to small vented hose and others issues. So after a few thousand $$ spent on shops and been so frustrated, that I was about to sell my car, I decided to start working on it myself after countless hours of watching youtube videos and forums reading on how to fix things etc. For many of you, it's a piece of cake to take the engine apart, put back together and tune the next day, but for me it was a challenge every step of the way. So now after this briefing, I got the car back on the road the way it was before with the exception of the LS2 throttle body which decided to give up on me. My car was always tuned at 20psi making over 1k rwhp but as soon it hit 14psi it goes into limp mode, my tuner told me that I should change to LS6 OEM TB, he tried everything to make it work, changing value, air flow, tables etc. So what are you guys using for throttle body? My car is a 408ci 62 twin precision turbo with custom sheet metal intake, 750 Pro magnafue single pump and 1650cc injectors.

I’m no tuner and have 0 experience with this....

with that said, I recall a well known tuner on here stating the ls2 tb opens more than 100% which causes an issue with limp mode... something needed to be done like setting max throttle to 85 or 90% or something....

just throwing thst that out there as a possible lead to investigate further.

Talk to Bret Bradbury, I remember he had posted before that he has a work around for the REP mode problem.

I will send Bret a message, I bought the injectors from him, I know is something to do with the tune.

It shows P0102, P0103, C1278, C1296. traction control and service active handling gets trigger every time when the boost hit 14psi, if stay bellow 14# it runs fine.

I get 1278 code but only after around 22lbs. Anything under that I dont have a problem. Been battling this for a long time. Went through a few ls2 TB. But same results. It's very frustrating. Every once in a while I get 1516 also. Hope u can figure this out because it might help me if you resolve your problem.
When I can hit max boost around 26 the car is a monster but when it gone into limp mode it sucks.

When everything works the way it should be, it's a monster powerhouse.

It is nice when everything works but when that stupid limp mode happens I feel like burning the car.

I recently installed back OEM LS6 TB and went for ride, no codes or limp mode at 15psi, actually the throttle response is sharp now. I am waiting on dyno time to bump the boost to 20#.

Update: I took my car back for dyno with OEM LS6 non ported TB and all the codes and limp mode was gone. For some reason the LS2 90mm TB gave me a lot of headaches. The first dyno was without changes anything from previous run with 90mm TB, it made 778rwhp at 13psi and before it was 730rwhp. We up the boost to 20psi and end up at 894rwhp with 17* timing and little rich on top. For some reason the Alky methanol was set to spray after 15psi and turn green right away and not at 20psi. So I couldn't add more timing.

Limp mode got trigger at any gear as soon it hits 15psi with LS2 TB.

It's fairly common.

Using LS2 TB with LS1 PCM you'd need to limit max TPS opening to 98% or so.

I know it's common but for some reason isn't working. It standard procedure when going into boost. We tried both max and values just above the cylinder air mass we actually got. Neither worked.
