OK, everyone I am going NUTS over my tire choice.. Please let me first say I have searched over and over again and I also understand all the tire and wheel calculators out there. I know these threads turn into everyone quoting different tire calculators for sizes and so on.. I am looking for a possible real world answer..
My car is at 624RWHp so looking for a little more sidewall in my setup.. I am on 18x9.5 front wheels and 19x11 back. Narrow body, no tub.. I have decide on a 305/35/19 for the back. The front is killing me. I want to run a 275/40/18, but just not sure if this has been done, or not.. I do realize how much bigger this is and so on. I realize the car will sit a tad higher, which I kinda like, but just not sure it can be done without lots of rubbing.. I am lowered on factory bolts. I may just end up doing a 275/35/18 if you guys think that's a much better setup.. I am able to find people running that setup..
Anyone running a 275/40 or even a 265/40 18" wheel in front? THANKS
That's so funny. I saw an older thread where you shared your specs and that's what made me almost sure it would be fine. Thank you so much for replying. I am going to pull the trigger now.. By the way, your car is amazing. LOVE your setup.

If you're going to run 305/35/19, that's a tad over 1" taller than a stock size tire (1.3-1.4" taller), so you'll just want to run an equivalent upsized front tire, which would be a 275/40/18
I'm sure you know already, but this will also give you slightly more ground clearance and slightly less fender gap between the tire/fender.
On a side note, at 600+whp, is a 305 enough tire for you? I've got 345s going on and I should be around 500whp, I was afraid that might be overkill haha. I liked the idea of more ground clearance and less fender gap though.
Yep, the idea is a bit more ground clearance and a bit less fender gap.. Did the same thing to my Cayenne and it worked out great.. Fingers crossed on the Z..
Not 100% sure the 305 will be enough, but that's why I didn't want to go with a 30 series tires.. The 35 will help a bit and I didn't want to give up all my handling.. I think Ill end up using 2 of my OEM wheels for a pure track tire setup.
Got everything mounted up today, but not on the car yet because I am going to nano coat the wheel first.. Here's a quick pic of wheels and tires next to the car.. I think the bigger tire setup is going to be very nice.
Should look killer Another added benefit to me of going to the taller tire was the reduction in effective gearing. I just got 4.10s put in several months ago, then came across a supercharger deal I couldn't pass up. The taller tire should "give me some more gear" back.
I went with the Nitto NT05R Hopefully a decent compound. I just need to stay out of the Florida rain.. Somehow I have turned my Corvette in a motorcycle..lol
I've currently got 305/35/18 R888s on Speedlines, "new" 345/30/19 R888s ( used but they'll age out within a couple years max) are going on with 19x13s when the car comes back. Decided carbon flared fenders would look cool....didn't consider the cost of wheels and tires at that time...lol.
If 345 R888Rs will be overkill, I may look at 345 Pilot Sports. I'd rather spin a little tire than break something more costly. Or just go back down to the 305 set up and use spacers.

Isn't the NT05R more of a "drag" tire? That'll help grip off the line, but I've heard they're not too confidence inspiring in the twisties. No "magic pill" unfortunately
Lol I thought the same when I put on the R888s. I was forced to drive it home in hard rain after the gears were done, really didn't feel bad at all.
Yes, definitely more of a drag tire. Unfortunately not too many good twisties here in FLA. You are so right, no magic pill.. Each one has a purpose.. I figure ill run with this supercharger and drag type setup till I'm tired of it. I will then go to a more handling N/A street setup.. That's the plan at least..
