Default Choosing Injectors

After fixing some belt alignment issues on my 01 C5Z with the A&A V3 Si, I'm now getting it ready for the 1/2 Mile event on September 21st. The car is at 92% duty cycle on the injectors, so I'd like to swap in bigger injectors to remedy that and get it ready for future upgrades. The car is currently at 650rwhp with 93 octane, V3 Si and 3.6 pulley, with an IW 10% overdrive crank pulley. At the top end, it's at 92% duty cycle and I can watch the fuel pressure drop maybe 2psi at most. The car is currently using 60# injectors that came with the kit.

What injectors would you guys recommend, and why? Would you be concerned about seeing 92% duty cycle? I've read a lot of posts here recommending Injector Dynamics, but their options seem a bit bigger than maybe what I need. Their lowest offering would be the ID1050X. My upgrade plans would be to a V2 Ti unit and spin it for all its worth, along with meth injection. I can't see myself ever going over 750-800rwhp, if I could even make it to that point with the mentioned hardware.

Thoughts? Thanks!

There are 80# injectors that would get your duty cycle down. Bosch or other manufacturers make them. Look at some of the vendors like Fuel injector clinic or fuel injector connection are the two FIC companies. There is also 95# that would give you room to grow. 95# = 1000cc injectors once the conversion is done I believe.

Any reason I shouldn't go with Injector Dynamics ID1050X? Overkill for my setup or future plans?

No reason not to do them other than price. I don't know or believe that they are worth the price difference vs other brands. That is my only issue with ID.

I have Deka 80 and they idle at 14.7 AFR no problem with a cam. Like others have said the more expensive ID injectors are good for when you get huge injectors and the required idle pulsewidth is so small (in the non-linear region) that it's worth paying for a high dollar one to maintain a good idle. At WOT there is no difference or advantages... if Deka 80 can be cheapy had, commonly used and work well on the platform (data readily available), no reason to not just use those in this case, IMO.

Life is doing it's best attempt to get in the way. Air conditioning unit failed at home this week and it was declared DOA this afternoon, so it's getting replaced this week.

The 1/2 Mile is up in the air still, and I may call it a year and be done. However, I may still make it happen if I don't do the injectors and tune.

How do you guys feel about running a 1/2 Mile event with 92% duty cycle on the injectors? Fuel pressure holds steady at 58psi. It would just be for one event, then the year is over with. I don't get that crazy on the street. Injectors would be replaced by spring.

At present I'd have no real concerns about running them at 92%

If your pump/fuel lines etc are all capable enough, you could bump base pressure up a little for now.

And by saying it holds steady at 58psi, presumably it is not boost referenced ?

Perhaps the only caveat there....also depends on your current AFR's, on each bank...not just an average. If you're already on the lean side and at 92%....perhaps there may be a little concern

If running very safely rich, no real concern.
