Does anybody have experience running Nitromethane.
I have heard that it sets off the knock sensors and cannot be used in Vettes.
If mixed with methanol, like usual, then the knock rating should be helped.
I'm guessing that about 5% would be the upper limit.
Are Vette gas systems compatable with methonol? It is corrosive, similar to water.
If you are running larger injectors, like probably needed with a Nitro/methanol/gasoline mix, and then you go back to just gasoline, will the injectors compensate?

Hehe...Did a 15% mix of nitro w/ a mixer. Vette went way fast, very low 10 sec. runs several times. Tight before I blew both head gaskets...Well it was fun while it lasted...Err I think I will use it in the hemi only...1,500 h.p. in a 2450 lb. car. 8.16 sec. car  I would not recommen it for the vetter ride...Burn't hand teaches best and lack of copper head gaskets.
Nitromethane and gasoline do not mix. Nitro also has an extremely low octane (in the 60's), so it is prone to detonation. Nitro can make lots of power, but a modern fuel injected motor won't see real gains from it.
Also, it just wouldn't be very good on your fuel system. There have been posts about this before I think in the C5 performance section.
If you want something like that, go with Nitrous, not Nitro...
Not recommended in a street car unless you want to grenade the engine. I have seen drag cars add some and 2 guys bouncing the rear bumper to get it to mix in the fuel tank. Needless to say they went home pushin the car back onto the trailer!
