How much boost can the stock valve springs handle?

I'm certainly NO expert, but I can't see where boost has any effect on valve springs, anybody????

Valve spring pressure has nothing to do with boost

I don't know the numbers.

Why are you interested in knowing? Know that might help us help you. ;)

For others, boost exerts pressure on valves. So, yes valve spring pressure and boost are definitely related. :yesnod:

I don't know but doesn't the ATI for stock cars allow 7lbs. This apt is supposed to be for stock engines. I had heavy springs put on with my H/C package and when we added the ATI Roger Vinci changed mine out to much stronger dual springs. I don't know the limit but I know as fast as my car reaches redline I don't think stock springs could come close to keeping up.

The only way boost can have any effect on the valve spring is with a blower the engine can rev higher but if you shift at the same rpm as before boost has nothing to do with valve springs. With forced induction the torque curve will follow the cam and max. torque will be at the same rpm as before the blower but it will be much higher with the blower installed.

I would suspect that too much boost would effect the springs ... at least in the life of them overall??
