Had my 97 A&A corvette dynoed after 7 years. Was down about 100hp, found out my bov was stuck open just enough to make it sound like everything was OK. I guess I will be doing some regular maintance on the bov from now on
This is why I recommend a pressure test as part of routine maintenance for forced induction vehicles.
I apply 25psi of pressure to the inlet of my turbocharger and fill all the plumbing and intake manifold to find every leak.
If you've never done this, you are going to find many leaks. Then after that, a few months later, you'll fine a split hose, a leaking pcv valve, a torn coupler, all kinds of stuff can happen over time.
Are you taking apart the bov? Any instructions on how to do the maintenance? Did you see boost loss in your gauge?
Removed BOV, unscrew plastic cap, clean bore and piston and coat with light oil,or WD40. I don't have a boost gage, just seemed that I had lost hp, and dyno confirmed it. In my case the piston was stuck with about a 1/16 gap which was allowing some boost to escape, when I would let off it sounded like it was releasing boost like everything was working
