Check out what i found in my shed ,been there for 12yrs. I was wondering where these went and there was a cat living back there and he always seen stoned now i know why..
These were filled to to top so this is the evaporation over the yrs. I burned through 2 bottles already and i have 10 more in the back. I changed nothing in the tune and it ran perfect, no difference in valves. Im 26lbs boost over 1000hp..
I used to race an old alchy super gas vette. The race alchy I stored in jugs and always "loaded up" and topped them off when I went to the track.
I had an old jug laying around for over 10 years with 5 gal of m1. The old fill jug car got hard over the years and cracked but the alchy was just fine. I was surprised. Maybe the modern formulations are better???
What I DID learn is that you don't leave alchy in the car parked in the trailer, at 150+ degrees. the spool valve controller for the ron's flying toilet (mechanical injection) was all gooed up and clogged. The alchy started to crystalize from the big heat in the tiny little passages of the spool valve.
so I think the fuel system left in the heat of a trailer or garage is way more troublesome than long term storage in a sealed jug. For my old BBC vette drag car I learned to "pickle it" by running gas through the system and keeping the engine running with the "bump primer" I used to start it.
I'm happy to hear other folks found the same as me. thanks!
