I noticed the magnuson coolant pump does not run with the key on but if I put power directly to it from the battery it comes on. So I'm not sure, how this thing works? Does it come on when the car is running or a certain temp?

Key on engine off or key on engine on? Might need the engine running IE alternator to turn on.
I had the key on engine off when I did the check. If I apply power directly to the relay output for the pump (its a regular 12v relay) the pump turns on. I think I will check for 12v on that output with the car running cos I can't hear crap with it running and the blower whining (cog drive) lol.
and i'd meter the voltage on the trigger wire with the key on vs engine on as well as try & trace it to see what circuit it's using. that should let you know whether it's supposed to be on switched power or if there's an intermittent break or something.

Exactly! That's my plan probably for tomorrow.
UPDATE : Well it appears the pump is getting its voltage and I looked very closely at the tank and I can see *some* movement. Could not hear the pump with my Cog drive SC haha
