Tusc I thought you were using a holley ECU, which have external output function to turn on the second fuel pump so you can avoid the hobbs

Also there is a way to utilize a PWM controller output which further reduce heating and pump wear, for idle and cruise, the pump relay needs to be PWM compatible and you get the manufacturer's drive frequency for the pump and relay, it can help modernize the fuel system, save energy

Haltech 2500t yes.

I have not fully sorted that install yet as far as which inputs/outputs I want to use to maximize it yet. I am only just beginning to work on the oe harness in prep for that later today.

I did also have a meth kit which I was going to use on the car but which I stepped back from because I don't have direct injection for it. Though now I may reinstall it and use a single nozzle 50 shot.... I remain undecided. But that could also have been controlled by the Haltech and be rid of the Alky Control boxes.

Truth be told I don't know all of the options I have before me with the ecu and my setup.

Look at the inputs and outputs from that particular ECU. Then draw a diagram for those output and inputs as needed. Sometimes you are limited and need to choose between sensors or drivers and other times there are more options than you ever need. Make a list of all the aux devices, sensors, and necessary wires to run them, and prioritize them so you can concede the most essential connections first.

Fuel pump is a single output, just a trigger wire, and it is arguably one of the more important functions to utilize for ECU control. On the other hand, if you absolutely needed that output for something else like nitrous, which is more difficult to control without the ECU, then you would want the fuel pump on a hobbs to free up the output for nitrous.

If you are using E85 you won't want meth or water injection, generally. It is unnecessary complication. Water is useful for cooling engine internal parts for factory brittle pistons which won't tolerate overheating. Methanol is useful for high temperature gasoline applications to buffer octane rating preventing detonation, but the caveat is, you get used to the meth injection, then one day it stops working and the engine will be ruined.
