Looking for opinions from real world users.... I have an 01 M6 with 149K on it, one owner before me, older gentleman bought it new. Its 100% stock except for a Ti exhaust. I wasn't interested in changing to headers, x pipe, hi flow cats, blah blah.... but I have been thinking of adding a supercharger after driving my friends that has an ECS supercharger.
Would the higher miles on a stock 5.7 be of great concern when thinking of adding a supercharger? I don't want radical, maybe 5PSI to get a bit more GRRRR out of the old girl..... Thanks guys!
If budget and reliability are your two main concerns on an older inexpensive car.... I would definitely consider doing:
-Long Tube headers / no cats
-4.10 gears
-Dyno tune
You will be amazed at the difference! Remember, even the cheapest and smallest C5 supercharger kits will get you over 500rwhp real quick! Now your next problem will be the weak factory clutch in the 149K LS1 C5 that will start to slip! That will be a VERY expensive repair bill not anticipated.
