Default Mp112?

I have a 03 zo6 with intercooled mp112 charger…
wondering what would be best option?

go with E85 or Meth kit

right now it’s at 500rwhp with tune and dynoed

looking to get some more power out of it

how would you plan to install the meth, and how much money are you willing to throw at the car? those make all the difference in my recommendation.

if you plan to spray before the rotors to cool down your intake air... only to squeeze it through some hot rotors as you pressurize the intake plenum & effectively negate most of the meth's cooling effect - then i'd say E85 + bigger pump/injectors.

but if you're fabbing up a direct port or internal spray bar system for the meth, then more power to ya! it's been done a couple times & is really the only effective way to add alcohol to a PD setup. i ain't looked into it in a few years, but it's probably still more expensive than an E85 conversion... though you could still get gas at almost any station in the country.

The biggest problem with these older PD blowers is IAT temps / heatsoak! IATs skyrocket the minute you try to push them and E85 / Meth can only help so much...

that's got a lot to do with how much you're trying to push it. 6-9psi on a stock LS1 or LS6 is great for that blower... it's stuff like pulleying down for 10+ psi after heads/cam/exhaust or running it on a built 402 that the 112 starts spinning out of its map, and you'd do better to swap to the 122 (or better-yet, a TVS2300).

my 2300's pushing close to 700 at the wheels on 93 with no meth and was safely tuned in the TX summer... granted i've also got a freon chiller for the intercooler (which is what i did instead of internal meth bars).

if you have good e85 availability and the $$ to do it, that would be the ez button

search on some old funcool posts as he squeezed that blower for all it's worth. I wouldn't get too greedy and try to go above 700 as the blower doesn't flow the big cfm to support big hp and is better suited around 600

Another cool way (pardon the pun) is to run direct port alchy. Pump gas on primary and another set of injectors or direct port alchy nozzles. Big IATs do indeed spike up on that blower running in traffic on the street it gets to be a pretty hot lump and with no intercooler IATs get out of range for good power. Makes it harder to stay away from detonation which will ruin your day.

he said he has an intercooler

and it was gonna run me north of $3k to build a direct-port meth setup (in 4yrs ago's dollars), which is why i did the chiller instead.

What are your IATs now on full boost? 10% OD will increase boost and IATs even more while the LTs will drop boost about 2 - 3 psi... also might want to make sure you have enough fueling.

Those are good number for 3.0 though. Way better than the crappy tuner in Mahomet, IL I went to with my Magnuson...
