Are you getting detonation? What were your A/F ratios on the wide-band dyno?? What is your fuel pressure at WOT?

The fuel pump upgrade is more of a prevention thing as opposed to performance. I think as a general rule, if you are making 500rwhp or less AND have the proper injectors AND competent tuning, you should be fine. For peace-of-mind, I would add a Racetronix (Walbro) or similar fuel pump setup.

you want adiquate fuel to make sure you dont blow your motor. no other reason. Tuning is what improves performance. Its all about your Air / Fuel ratio witch makes exhaust gas temps high or low depending on rich or lean fuel conditions. Getting the perfect balance at all RPMs while maintaining 0 knock/ping is what you want to make max power.
