How do you guys modify the fuel system to satisfy the requirements of high boost and high hp with an ATI D1SC?
Is the booster pump enough for up to 15lbs of boost? What do you guys do who have close to 700RWHP? I'd like to give my self some room to grow, and the thought of running lean.. well.. that much I know! :banghead:
Re: Fuel System Help from the Experts Wanted! (MyFirstCorvette)
I'd do the LPE Walbro pump up to 600rwhp.
I'd do an Aux Aeromotive AND the LPE Walbro for 700rwhp.
You'd have to do at least 50# injectors.
I think the fuel rails become an issue above 700rwhp.
Re: Fuel System Help from the Experts Wanted! (MyFirstCorvette)
I install the Racetronix pump and harness with a Kenne Bell Boost A Pump in all high HP applications. My last one made 624 RWHP with no fuel issues. It's nice and quiet , unlike the Aeromotive. I also make a little harness myself so that the Boost A Pump plugs directly into the Racetronix harness. There's absolutely no cutting or splicing of wires involved. It also comes with a jumper harness and hose so you can pump the tank into another car or gas can. That REALLY makes it nice. The complete system is $529 including the Boost A Pump jumper harness and drain kit.
I also made a sort of pictorial instruction booklet for installing the in tank pump. It's really pretty easy once you see it. I made a couple of homemade tools that really help also. You can make them easily. It takes less than an hour to install the pump after the tank is drained. You don't have to drop the tank or cut the fuel pump basket apart or any of the other horror stories I've read about.
If you really want the Aeromotive setup, I have that in stock also. I just don't use them any more because they are too loud. You can have that for $350. (Pump and Controller) ANDY

Mello pretty much sums it up... and yes, retrofitting fuel lines/rails (proximity of regulator to fuel delivery) are HIGHLY recommended at 700rwhp or greater. Adjustable boost activated auxilliary pumps, as the name implies, are not on during normal driving conditions.

MelloYellow: Thank you for the sound advice and rapid response!
Blown In NC: I will look into it, Thank You!
Andy@AandACorvette: Thanks for the detailed reply! I may place the order with you, I'll know more tomorrow.
It sounds to me like most everyone is thinking on the same page. I called Ed Petter from Lingenfelter (really nice guy) and I'm having my tech guy call Racetronix tomorrow.
Hopefully we'll have enough research done to make the purchase tomorrow!
Re: Fuel System Help from the Experts Wanted! (MyFirstCorvette)
If you are boosting to 15#, you may want to port those heads, get a cam, and some lt headers, not to mention a forged bottom end. That boost and even close to regular compression will go kaboom!!
Re: Fuel System Help from the Experts Wanted! (billreid1@***.net)
I'm using the Skarupa in tank pump, ken belle boost-a-pump and 48# injectors, I am only looking for around 600rwhp but would rather have too much than too little, forging internals, going to 1 7/8 LTs, cnc and hand polished ls6 heads with 2.055/1.60 dual springs etc.
