Default Going With Nitrous

Okay, so after doing some research, I'm going to go with Nitrous for the time and money involved. But first do any of you have input or advice on the following?
a. Dual Stage kit (looking at dual 75s) vs a single 125 to 150
- any advantage and disadvantage to either
b. timing retardard - do I have to do it?
c. WOT switch with ability to auto turn on at specified RPM
d. Shut down prior to rev limiter, shut down with the brake
e. Manually administer the N20
f. Why is the N20 injected after the MAF sensor?
g. Tuning for proper fuel/N20 and fuel/air ratios
h. Spark Plug changing?
i. Can I hide a dual stage in a C5 with the trunk open?
j. What are the pros/cons to purging?
k. any other advice (brand names/who to contact/etc)?

Thanks,
Shaun

a. Dual Stage kit (looking at dual 75s) vs a single 125 to 150
- any advantage and disadvantage to either
Dual stage will help you get off the line but it will cost you more money. I would invest in a set of ET Streets and go with a single 125 or 150
b. timing retardard - do I have to do it?
You don't HAVE to do it, but it is benefical. You are supposed to retard your timing for every 50 hp you make over stock. So if you add a Head and Cam (100 HP) + 100 Shot of N20, you should retard 4 degrees of timing to run pump gas. Now you can just run a higher octane gas to prevent detonation
c. WOT switch with ability to auto turn on at specified RPM
The basic kit will come with a WOT switch. I highly recommend using it. If you want to turn the N20 on at a certain RPM get a window switch.
d. Shut down prior to rev limiter, shut down with the brake
The window switch will shut down the N20 prior to your hitting the rev limiter. As far as shutting down with the brake, that is not necessary because the N20 is activated by the WOT switch.
e. Manually administer the N20
Not sure if I understand this requirement, but if you mean to check your solenoids you can just run a 12v + to the solenoids from the battery for testing. NOTE* DONOT spray N2O into your intake when the car is not running!!!
f. Why is the N20 injected after the MAF sensor?
This is for the wet kit. You want to nossle spray N20 & Fuel into the intake and have the shortest route to get to the chamber. You see N20 and fuel dont want to be together. So what happens is the separate. If they separate in your intake, that is usually called a N2O backfire and is very messy. So you want your nossle as close to the throttle body (on a wet kit)
g. Tuning for proper fuel/N20 and fuel/air ratios
You want to spray on a dyno with a wide band o2. This will allow you to see if you are going lean and can shut it down if necessary so you dont damage any internals
h. Spark Plug changing?
You want to change from a platnum plug to a copper. Many here run NGK's, but any good copper plug will do. Gap them at .035 for a 150 shot
i. Can I hide a dual stage in a C5 with the trunk open?
The trunk isnt where you will be given away. Its the hood. But to answer your question you can fit the bottle and all accessories in the rear center compartment
j. What are the pros/cons to purging?
Pro- you get the N20 at the solenoid letting the air escape, this will give you a harder hit of N20 since the N2O is at the solenoid. Dont forget it looks really cool too.
Con- you waste $1.00 worth of N20.

k. any other advice (brand names/who to contact/etc)?
I like NX, others like TNT, its preference. I like Nx because the bottle opener is cool. It actually turns the open and close valve, opposed to you having to open the bottle and allowing a solenoid open and close the flow.

Hope I have helped.

Cheems, just make sure you get those new tires on there before you install an NO2 system.

Bald tires + NO2 = :nono: :nono:
