Default Re: Fun day at track/LPE TT (DJ Self)

Was at Capital raceway last summer and watched DJ Self run a 10.40 @134 before they told him to park it. It was at least 85 that day and the track was not treated very well due to street cars only. Will not mention the forum member that climbed the wall that day. What ever the boost was it was impressive on a tire that he drove in on.

The A/T twin-turbos have a big advantage at the track over a stick car. They can build boost at the line and the boost will stay up the entire run. A stick car WILL loose boost no matter how quick he shifts. An A/T TT with gears and a good tq. converter will leave the line at a higher tq. than a stick car. This will equal a better E/T and MPH.

From a highway roll and the same H/P the stick car should pull the A/T TT..Could this be a challenge.

Im really curious on how a beast like DJ's LPE TT would do with that new gearvendors A4 to A8 conversion. From what I read it handles up to 1000 HP so it should be strong enough with hard launches. Curious on the top end runs too.

Man, that is pretty cool. If it weren't for the cost I might have gone TT. I told Lou that we were going to have to do a TT next year. He is ready when I am. Have to get a good bonus next year for that to happen though.
Cheers
Randy

Impressive MPH my friend. Low boost no less? I'd bet that could a 9 second car under the right conditions. How nutty is that? A 9 second daily driver. :smash:  :)
