Am I safe to run a TNT Force II Wet Shot jetted at 150HP on a stock motor, with stock fuel pump, stock heads/cam and stock bottom end (car is a 2000 FRC with 33k on the odo)? And do I have to worry about pooling and backfires at all?
Also- do I have to run a seperate MSD Box to do my timing retard, or can it be done with LS1Edit? Is it safe to run without the retard?
The TNT shot seems to put out more power than its rated at - the 150 shot will probably put out 175-180 rwhp, which (IMO) is too much for the stock bottom end/fuelpump/etc tp handle.
That being said, I would not go more than a TNT 100/NX 150 shot with stock parts.....you could do it, but your motor will pay for it in the end.....

That's what I heard about the TNT systems- I suppose I'll just run a 100 or maybe a 125 shot.
What about the retard issue? And I've heard that at the 125 level at least, I'll need an additional fuel pump. Is this true? Where is the line between when the fuel is insufficient and when the bottom-end actually starts to go? (i.e. need fuel only for 125, and fuel + rods/pistons/crank for 150 or need it all for 125 or...)
Easy answer to your problem.....put the car on the dyno and see if your air/fuel ratio stays ok on the gas.....your bottom end/gas pump should be perfectly fine for a TNT 100 shot, maybe even a 125 shot.....
you can run a stock LS1 with a 150 shot without timing retard, but you will have to run race fuel to increase burn time in the chamber. Retard the timing just to be safe. Its 1 degree for every 50 FWHP you add. This includes intake, exhaust etc...
CULUKN, can uyou clarify for me, I'm currently running the TNT 100 shot but have stage 2 H/C package coming from CARTEK. I plan on taking my car to CERRA racing and having the LS1 edit done there, is it possible to run the TNT 150 shot if they retard the timing thru LS1 edit and will all that retard effect the way my car runs when not using the juice? Bob

If your car is running stock a/f ratio, and you squeeze a 75 nx shot, your a/f ratio will be fine on the gas. A wideband is nice and recommended, but the rule of thumb is that you can get away with it with cold plugs and short gaps.
However, if you already are using LS1 edit to lean your car out to 12.8:1 or so, and you squeeze an NX 75 shot with the recommended jets, you might run lean.
Therefore, if you have made adjustments to your a/f ratio by LS1edit or by bolt-ons, you probably should use a wideband and buy some extra NX jets so you can tune the car on the dyno.
If your car is bone stock with a 75 hp nx unit, I think you will be okay without messing with timing or a/f ratio, so long as you go colder on the plugs with a shorter gap.

Cerra should be able to take care of that for you, I would think. It's always a compromise though- the perfect H/C setup will go boom if you spreay it, and the perfect spray setup might not respond too well to your heads and cam. I'm no tuner, but I know a couple I'd ask about this. ;)
In general though, I wouldnt' think a little retard would affect your motor N/A, unless it's got some crazy duration on the cam...

So far, I haven't done anything programming-wise to the car, but if I do decide to go the nitrous route, I'll have it tuned with LS1 Edit and retard taht timing.
I'll also to be sure to run the TR6s with a small gap, jsut to ensure I don't get any ill effects. ;)
Thanks for the info guys- you've been VERY helpful so far.
