Default Supercharger

I have a 99 vette with 45000 on it. I am thinking. of puting a supercharger on it. Can anyone tell me what it would cost, if it is safe with the amount of miles I have on it, and who can do it. I live in the Chicago area.

You can buy the ATI kit for about $4600. If you are a fairly good mechanic and have access to a lift it can be installed in 8-12 hours. Then you need to get it tuned (another $500.) One problem with doing it yourself is it can't be dirven to the place that will tune it after it is installed because the larger injectors will wash out your rings. It will have to be loaded on a flatbed tow.

I think you can have it installed aand tuned at a reputable performance shop for about $7K-$8K.

Cost me $8000, turn key installation. If you're worried about the mileage you could have the engine leak tested. It's fairly cheap and will give you a good idea of what shape the engine is in and if it's good enough to put a blower on.
