I have a question for the procharger guys; I have installed a 3.50 pulley on the charger and MMS idler bracket I do not see and signs of slipping. On the dyno the car makes 11.6 psi of boost at 5500 then falls off to 10.5 at 6,200. Now I would like to ask if the air intake from procharger is the cause of this. Is the air cleaner assembly just to damn small so it cant make any more boost due to it not letting it suck anymore air in, or is there another problem?? Any ideas or help would be great.
2. Air filter choking the flow (easy to test, just disconnect for 1 pull)
3. Twin intercoolers and tubing not supporting flow and causing too much pressure drop
4. Boost leak somewhere in the tubing
5. Boost leak at PVC valve
I think I got about 2-3 psi with the following changes:
single intercooler
new airbridge
new blowoff valve
new air filter
These are all great ideas! The only one I can add to this list would be to take your car to a dyno shop that has the hookup to read boost during the run. It will print up a graph just like the dyno HP & tq numbers. If the belt is slipping the graph will show it.
It's hard to get a 3.50 pulley to hold. Try taking the bottom alternator bolt out and pull the alternator towards the frame. You can get the belt a lot tighter this way. I make a small bracket so that I can lock the alternator in that position.
Thanks for the help guys, I did have it on the dyno when we saw this problem. The belt show no signs of slipping and there are no parts of the belt any ware like before the MMS brackets. I was just wondering the same things you were like the BOV I have heard is a POS which one do you guys use and where can I get it, and the filter at the bottom is clean so has anyone seen more then 11.7 with the stock filter.
Thanks again
Agree with all of the above.
Depending on your setup you can always remove the air filter temporarily on the dyno to see how much of a restriction it might be.
