Re: Nitrous times (03MelYVette)
yea traction was a major problem before i put the nittos on i would run like 12.2's also i could only engage the kit at about 3000, but with the nittos i sprayed it bassically out of the whole at around 2000, there was no spinning, however, on the runflats it was spining even spraying at 3000. The tires made a huge differnce, the nittos i used where of my friends camero he suggested we try them. After saw what a big differnce the tires i went and ordered some bfgoodrich drag radials the next day. Also this proves what a ls1 can do spending under a 1000 i am able to run 11's not many other engines can claim that. :D

You are spraying at around 2000 RPM?????????? Boy you are taking a big chance. Your motor though not mine. I spray at 3200 RPM to be safe.

I have an 03' C5 with a 6speed to which I plan on adding nitrous. If your hitting 118mph, sounds like you have your system set-up correctly.
If you don't mind, would you tell me what type of system you are using? Wet or Dry, TNT NOS ?
I hope you have some kind of scan tool, I have extensive experience with turbo charging via my original owner 1987 Buick Grand National.
And it does not matter whether it is nitrous or a supercharger, the primary culprit of failure is a lean condition that would lead to detonation (knock)... that is what is killing the piston and rings on the LS1. Also why you see NOS jet settings make'm a little fat.
