Is 5lb or 7lb of boost safe?
Hello, I have a 02 z06 I'm having A@A P-1SC single intercool also TPIS headers and Magnaflow X pipe with borla stingers. My Question is how safe is 7lb of boost on a z06 or stay safe at 5lbs until forged bottom?

5 pounds is perfectly safe and I'm sure some people are running 7 pounds but IMO 7 psi is pushing it on the LS-6's compression, you may be alright but if you depend on someone else to do your work and you don't have deep pockets then stick with 5 psi until you can afford to upgrade the bottom end.

:iagree: 7 lbs. is pushing it with a Z's compression. 5 lbs. would be perfectly safe for now.

Have it dynotuned and I think you'll see 500 rwhp pretty easy with the headers added on. I'm not really an expert, but my tuner is hoping to get right at 500 rwhp with the addition of headers to my ATI...which is running 7psi on an LS1. I would think that since you're starting 60 hp ahead of me, you should be able to do it with less boost. Like I said, I'm not an expert and I don't have a Z. This is just my .02. Maybe someone with a Z and more knowledge will chime in.
BTW, ATI also does not account for the single intercooler...which also makes more rwhp.

I got 543 rwhp at only 5 PSI. It's a Vortech not an ATI, but that shouldn't matter. My only mods Stainless Works LT headers and Blackwing.

Hey
I have a 2003 Z06 with ATI, 5#'s boost and no other mods. The best pull was 514 RWHP and the pull with the most conservative tune was 493 RWHP. I am thinking about a new exhaust over the winter. I am hoping for the 520 - 53- range.

I run 5lbs. on my 99 A4 with an LS6 motor (7lbs. would be pushing it with the higher CR). With TPIS long tubes, high flow cats, 80mm TB I make 505rwhp.

The new program should be done today, the first one was a little rich. I should be going to the dyno on friday. I have high hopes of 500 hp. :
