Hey guys! Just picked up a new NX wet kit over the weekend, but I could use some advice installing it. I'm mechanically adept, have acess to plenty of tools and a lift, but i'm just a bit fuzzy on how i'm going to mount the bottle and run the main line. I want to mount the bottle behind the passengers seat, facing forward, but I have no clue how to do that, because ya can't see anything underneath the car! Also am not sure on how i'm going to get the main line down underneath the car... that IS where you guys run the main line, right?
Maybe someone has some C5 installation instructions somewhere?
I would advise installing the bottle in the rear center compartment. This will enable you to have a stealth install, and make it easier to run your blow off tube. You will not have to run line outside the car, run it through the interior and through a grommet by the battery in the passenger footwell.
Well, i'm not really concerned about being stealthy, and I won't have a remote bottle opener. Besides, I don't think my 15lb bottle will fit there anyway. Do you have any suggestions on putting the bottle where I suggested?
You will have to liquid nail a panel then screw the bottle brackets to it... DONOT screw the brackets directly to the car... The fuel tank is right behind your seats.
I mounted my 15# in the center comparment and it looks cool as hell and is on display. Look in the back window at the gage and part of bottle sticking out of compartment and you know you have something unique that most have missed by trading in bottle for 10# bottle. I really like the look and so does everyone that see's it. I am not into the stealth thing, I like to put my crafting ability on display. Go for it, as I leave my bottle open, and have on my set-ups for 20+ years.
Edit: I ran n2o line and wiring under carpet and you can't see it or tell.
