Cometic Gaskets reusable???

Have a set on my car with the magnuson...about 8k miles...are they reusable if I build a forged shortblock and they look in good shape?

Harley Davidson uses them as OEM on All 2004 models (!)...............you could reuse them, but why take a chance for leaks? Considering the relative low price, I would replace them........

Low price?
They are $150-200.

Designed for re-use.
You could re-confirm with Cometic on it tho.

Not like stock composite head gaskets.

Re-usable is correct per cometic. I had another forum member inform me he resued his 3 times and the only recommendation he received from Cometic directly was to spray the copper gasket coating on them before installation. Granted they won't last forever, so if I can stop my addiction to modify this car I should be just fine reusing them one time.

Thank God I can save a few bucks on this forged shortblock....every little bit helps!!!
