After I redrilled and tapped the ring it fit alot better. I am sending off the ring and the bottle brackets to get anodized red.
Tried to keep everything As clean as possible, soldered all connections, heat shrink tubing on all wires. The purge noid was hell to get right. It was originally a NOS noid, I took it apart-scuffed it and shot it with some flat black so it would match the TNT noids.
The bracket they sent worked out pretty good. All in all it was alot easier to install than TNT's very first kits 3yrs ago. I actually was the first one to have one on LS1.com... I went through 3 or 4 power rings till we had one that would fit.
2C5only21,
Never had any problems, this is my third car to use it on too. All ls1-ls6 vehicles, dry and wet. Key is follow the directions for your kit, and don't get greedy... stay with the max shot your kit recommends.
What size shot do you use? I already have heads and cam. The cam that I have is a 230/224 so i know it is not the best for nitrous. I would probably just go w/ a 100 shot. Plus I would buy the RPM switch and all the other safty mods. kaley
I am in the same boat you are, I have the mti x1 cam 230/227... You won't want to use nitrous all the time anyway. I have it for a backup.
Since you have heads and cam, you will want to use a wet kit. I like the TNT because it is jetted pretty fat on the fuel side. Use their 100 shot (100 at the wheels) and you will be good to go. You can do away with the remote opener if you mount the bottle behind the driver or passenger seat like I did. You will need a heater and a purge though.
NX is a awsome kit too if you want to spend less $$.
Thanks for the info. I will look into the TNT kit. I really like the look of the NX maf kit. It sounds like a cool kit and it is only $100 more then the base kit. Would a 100 shot knock a secong off my 1/4 ets? Thanks, Kaley
Great Install Teckno. Remember me. We were both looking at TC a long time ago, you were going to get a ST3500and had a 3200 at one time with one of your cars??
It looks awesome and the bottle is sweet. I think my car should be in the 11's now with my recent 7.58 at 91 MPH in the 1/8 2 weeks ago and I am just waiting to get to the 1/4 track so i have some paper to back it up.
I have a 224 Cam now and the converter I have loves nitrous, the Yank SS3600 2.5 STR. I have been debating nitrous and think one day I will get it. I am about to get some heads for my car and then I will see what happens after that. hell, I don't even have LT Headers yet, but my cats are off and I do have an off road x pipe.
2001 Red Coupe Bandit,
Thanks... I bought the converter and never put it in. I finally sold it to MC TORCH RED (Mitch) He is making good use of it too! I am sure that SS 3600 is awsome. I miss the converters, but the six speed is fun!
Great looking install. Can you post another pic farther back from the seat, I'd like to see how it looks behind? :yesnod: Any reason you prefer TNT?
Pro-Precision Metal Fabricating. I think James is the guy who makes these. I can get a phone # later, but you can do a search on Ebay under finished items and try to email him that way.
