Default LONG OVERDUE...

I got my ’99 vert back from Finish Line Performance one month ago. Here’s what they did:

* Ported Z06 heads
* Custom ground cam (emissions-legal)
* LS-6 intake manifold
* Custom ATI Procharger setup pushing 7 PSI
* NX nitrous setup w/ bottle warmer, remote opener & purge kit hidden in storage compartment
* 5-point Exotic Muscle convertible rollbar & racing towhook
* 2-gauge pod digital cluster
* 3.73 differential – completely cryogenically treated
* Cryogenically treated front Baer Eradispeed rotors
* A custom VIGILANTE 2600 RPM stall converter with turbo stator was added to my FLP Stage IV tranny
* Cosmetic additions such as carbon fiber and Kewl engine component covers
* LS-1 Edit tuning on the dyno

I might add that FLP picked up the car in Washington, DC and transported it back to Illinois. I’ve been planning on writing up a phenomenal thread but got sidetracked by numerous things. I apologize to the guys at FLP for not saying this sooner but you all were FRICKIN’ FANTASTIC! I raise you a toast of mai-tais.

I wanted to post pictures after I got my car back from getting a Pioneer 7500 pop-up in-dash screen DVD player with voice-activated navigation, alarm system with dual-zone radar and GPS tracking and three (yes, 3) separate laser/radar jamming units and two laser/radar detectors along with carbon fiber interior enhancements, FlameBall shifter and custom Vette Essential leather add-ons but unfortunately, in the attempt to avoid a wanton deer, I struck the center cement curb (OUCH!) and busted up two new HRE wheels. The damage isn’t horrific and it could've been a lot worse if I actually struck the deer or hit a tree or lightpost after striking the cement isle and for this, I am counting my blessings. The car will be as good as new in two weeks with a few more add-ons and I will post pictures.

Again, thanks FLP for a phenomenal job. The car was turning 554 RWHP and 453 RWTQ WITHOUT the juice! If anyone has questions about what they did, please email me.

Very nice. Enjoy your new-found power!

Did you keep the stock headers and exhaust? Single or twin intercooled?

OCMike,

Nope, I have FLP's ceramic-coated long-tube headers, free-flow cats & X-pipe along with B&B's new 4-tip Bullets...sounds ultra-mean!!

Perry,

Can I get a pic and some details of the vert rollbar and racing towhook? does the top still work, did they have to cut the tonneau, how obvious is the towhook, does the seat still go all the way back? Inquiring minds want to know please.

xtream1,

I will take & send pics when i get the car outta the shop - probably 2 weeks or so. The top still works like factory though clearance is a little tight and you have to take a little more time to put the top up & down. No, you do not have to cut the tonneau or waterfall at all (something I did not ewant to do). It does hinder rear seat travel a little so if you're over 6 feet tall, you might have some problems. Check out this post to get an idea of the Exotic Muscle bar http://www.red-corvettes.com/rollbar.shtml

The towhook is GM issue and actually is welded up front and goes through the foglight bezel. It is not that noticeable and came in extremely handy during this last incident. GM has a rear towhook assembly as well but it requires a little more body panel removal for install. Picked them up through Fitchner and had them painted to match the car.

Woops, sorry OCMike...didn't respond to all of your question. Its a single intercooler (A&A's new setup) with the HD bracket. Also used a Racetronix fuel pump.

My dyno #'s were almost identical to yours when I first went with the ATI. I noticed some belt slip and knew I wasn't getting the full potential. Andy did the 8-rib kit and MMS did the tune...jumped to 645 RWHP.

Padler, congrats and do not drive on snow. Very bad. Several years ago I had NOX and remote bottle opener. They leak over time, like days. If you manually open bottle and rely on remote to seal you could lose NOX. Perhaps the valves are better now than a few years ago. Check it out. Not that you really need more power or anything.
