Hey guys new to the forums and Corvette ownership. I recently purchased an 03 ls1 w/a4. I got the car a good price and at the time I didn't really care about the 6sp because I use the car for daily driving and get tired of manual transmissions. Anyway I have been feeling a great urge to mod the car some, like new exhaust and mayhaps a supercharger. Is it worth it with the a4 trans? Will i fry the trans? Does adding a supercharger void the warranty? I almost lost to a Honda civic (turbo) the other day. :)

Re: Mods with A4? (sacrifice)
Warranty...we don't need no stinking warranty!! :jester
Yes, I do believe a supercharger voids most of the engine and drivetrain warranty. I'll let the guys who know warranties tell you about your options. And just cause you've got an A4 doesn't mean you can't mod...some of the fastest guys in this section have automatics. The A4 stands up pretty well.
When we went with the 427 we sent the A4 to these guys http://www.performancetrans.com/ We have been running 520 RWTQ for 22,000 miles with no problems.
BTW Since you are in Orlando, check out Norris Motorsports http://www.norris-motorsports.com/ Mike Norris does great work & provides a warranty! :yesnod: Tell him Sully sent you. ;)
Yes, you will fry the trans but who cares. For another $2k you can replace it with an FLP level4 and that will stand up to whatever you throw at it. Mods transform the overly civil A4 into a beast. :D
When Andy installed my ATI Procharger, I also went with the FLP Level IV tranny, Vigilante 2800 stall TC and used Z06 3.42 gears. Now I'm not worried about the drivetrain :flag
I had the tranny built for the additional power. By the way, be sure to get the transgo shift kit. . .it will make driving the A4, 100 times more enjoyable.
Right now, I am going to be upping the boost soon (hopefully).

I would start by installing a higher stall torque converter. While you are into the trans area why not do as suggested above and do a bullet proof rebuild at the same time. Now, this is also the time to change to 3:42 rear gears for not too much added cost. You will not recognize your car after these mods. NOW, you are ready for the other end of your car and better prepared for the supercharger mod. Better performance gain doing torque conv. and gears than doing intake, headers, and exhaust. Good Luck
