Your best bet for a sleeper is probably the Vortech SQ trim. No hood mod required and it's made to be quiet. If you are about to get into a blower though I'd recommend you wait and see what the intercooled Magnuson puts down. You may change your mind about the sleeper thing if the Mag is reasonably priced and drops some good HP/TQ numbers.

Mine is pretty much what you mentioned. No gauges, also.

:iagree: with Diynoob. Vortech won't give it away with the whine. As far as exhaust goes, I'm happy with the setup I've got...which is in the sig. It rumbles decently at idle and cruise and really makes noise at WOT.

You need a turbo if you really want a sleeper. It can be quieter than stock and make insane power levels.

As others have said the Vortech is the quietest one out there. You can just hear it at idle and it makes no noise under boost.

I am quite happy with my exhaust. It's a Z06 cat-back.

:iagree: Yup,Vortech gets my vote. I have the stock Z06 exhaust as well and
I'm told it sounds mean as hell @ WOT, but is very quiet at idle. :reddevil

:iagree:

Magnuson setups require a hood swap with a noticable bulge; hood closed or open...this sucker scares people...not a sleeper route. With a stock or blower cam, think of this as a steroid pumped weight lifter with mild mannerisms; the thing may drive docile/quiet around town but the looks definitely show the potential to do damage.

The Vortech will be the way to go for sleeper. Add some race gas/burn in a race tune and up the boost and go hunting street cruise night and win lots of $$$.

If you can afford to go turbos, this would be even more of a sleeper; LPE's pkg. I believe is concealed for the most part so you can even open the hood on this setup and may not get too many remarks if done in the evening away from street lights. Thanks to noise baffling turbines in the exhaust path you can go down to a moderate/duration 114 LSA cam and still not notice anything. These setups are also deceptively effortless in thrust. Squeeze on the throttle 1/3rd of the way in 4th gear at 2500 rpm and the thing will hit full boost and accelerate like many cars at WOT making a big racket. Add some race gas and up the boost and you've magically created the effect of adding 100 extra cubic inches and able to take on the noisiest and rowdiest of the bug cube fellas.

Completely stealth at idle and while cruising around in normal driving. You got to love the look   when the turbo's start spooling up and whoever was stupid enough to think about racing you knows they are going to have their hind end handed to them. :lolg: :lolg: :lolg: :lolg:
