Hi, I'm new here and am wondering if I could get your input on something.
I'm jus looking for ideas on modifying a stock 2000 Z06 Coupe.
I was just having a few questions on which way to go.
Should I go with something like the MTI 427 swap? or should I try something like turbo or superchargers?
What about swapping for a C5R block?
Hi, I'm new here and am wondering if I could get your input on something.

Any input is greatly appreciated.
We need to start from the beginning.
The Bad News (kinda)
First you would have a great deal of modifying to do because there was not a 2000 Z06, and if they had it would not have been a coupe.
The good news (I think)
Is that you have a C5...and whether it is a 2000 Coupe, FRC, or its a 2001 Z06...you have a C5 and there is nothing but mods available to any of the configurations..and I mean NOTHING but MODS! :D
It gets down to what you want out of the car power wise and how much money you want to spend to get that power...thats what it will really get down to you...and you are going to have to get used to C5 INFLATION if you have had another sports car..because when you own a C5 whether its right or wrong (depending on if one is a tuner or owner or both) you are going to get charged a lot of money.
The good news is you have a C5...and the better news is that there is not going to be a HUGE difference between the C6 and C5 like there was between the C4 and C5. So go forth and mod..but my suggestion is that you be more specific about what you want as fars as mods are concerned.
And last but not least welcome to the Corvetteforum.  :chevy :auto: :hurray: :seeya :flag
oops my mistake...we actually havent bought it yet...we're suppost to go and look at it tommorow and i just asked my dad for some help on this (he's the vette man of the family) it was infact a 2001 Z06 my mistake...anyways since it's definite that im going to get a C5 of some sort....i was jus looking for ideas for tuning it.....hmmm thought the LPE 427 is amazing id like to go in another direction.....the only proplem is should I stay Naturally Aspirated or go Turbo?
Well really im not sure what I want for mods and im really kind of an amature when it comes to car tuning. But is the MTI 427 a good start? I plan to keep this car for a long time and I really want to build it up to be a monster. What choices do I have after if I do the MTI swap????

Hmmm, it sounds like you really need to start doing research. Yes, the MTI 427 is a good engine (as far as I know). My suggestion would be to start doing searches on the forum for any mods that interest you and read as much as you can. It's better to read about some of the mods here, because people tend to post the good and bad things about them. If you read from the manufacturer's website all you'll get is the good.
First of all, though, set yourself some goals and try to mod your car so that it heads toward those goals. Nothing's more frustrating than putting a mod on a car and having to take it off next year because it's imcompatible with the next step you want to take...trust me, I know. I think the reason we forum members are having a hard time helping you is because you don't have these specific goals yet. There are many good mods out there, but without a specific aim in mind we can't really suggest where to start.
Being that I have had everything but a 427, which was my original route after being approached by Xtrememotorsports for a Turbo install. I have to support the Turbo route. They are all fun whether it is NOS w/ heads and cam, stroker big bore, Supercharger, or a Twin or Single Turbo. Pick somebody (Tuner) that has been doing it for a while. For Superchargers I would go with A&A Corvette and for the latest Turbo setup that has been out for a bit (TTi kit) I would recommend Xtrememotorsports. My Z06 just got wrapped up after doing R&D with the TTi kit, my base boost power is over what any NA Motor puts out and my Hi Boost is putting down over 590/690 rwhp/rwtq on a 346cid motor. Go exploring and don't listen to all the hype and sales pitches. There are a lot of people on this forum that have "Tuner Loyalty" only because they have purchased parts off of them. Think about what you want to do and what the Customer Service has historically been with whom ever you choose to go with.
Well I searched up many mods and what not but I am still unsure on which direction to go:
1. Pull the motor and rebuild it completely to my own specs....Maybe a turbo or a supercharger...
OR
2. Buy a crate engine...
I don't want this to be your average run of the mill corvette....and money is not really an issue becuase it will be built up over the next 2-3 years. I know LPE 427TT is the way to go but i kind of want to add my own touch to it....I'm thinking about going for the 427 but maybe with a turbo on that. Then I was thinking on going with the B&B bullets for an awesome sound....I have to beat out my dad because his Detomaso Pantera is running around 700-725 hp so we've got a little family competition goin on...........What kind of set up am i gonna need to get into that kind of hp area??

You're definitely going to have to go with some kind of Forced Induction for that. The only engine that I know of running that kind of hp n/a are very large displacement that probably wouldn't fit in the vette. Throwing a turbo on the 427 with B & Bs sounds pretty  to me.
Well that sounds like my route. Now the only thing is do all mix and match parts or save the headaches and buy the LPE 427 TT????
Is there a cheaper method to create a similar system to the lingenfelter?
Do i have to use the LPE provided exhaust????
And last but not least I live in Canada. Will I be able to get this car past customs once tuned???
For what it's worth, do the motor to support the other mods. In other words, put in a good rotating assembly and good heads with good valve springs. You can just stick on a turbo or blower and make power but if you do the long block right you'll enjoy the car a lot longer and with fewer headaches. Just my 2 cents.
