more pics are there now   i am a little pissy about having to modify the ABS unit......there is not much room to work with down there :mad but i now have a lot less parts on the ground now....it is going pretty well actually...........
That all sure looks familiar! It was almost exactly a year ago that I was working on mine. It is a lot of work but is well worth the effort. What brand of serpentine belt did they send you? It looks different than mine.
i bought my kit used...and a lot of little stuff was missing....the belt is a goodyear gatorback.......i wont run anyother belt on my cars ...they dont slip and the run super quiet.....they almost look like the have glass impregnated in the belt(very strange looking close up) question...i am gonna try to fabricat a spacer for the abs unit to move it closer to the rad.....do you think that will give me enough clearance??? or does it have to move down also????? i really dont want to grind on the abs unit....my luck i will grind into a fluid passage :cry
i remanufactured the stock abs bracket...i elongated themounting holes by .750 and cut off .750 off the foward frt leg......then i made a wedge out of aluminum and put it between the large rack and pinion bolt...it lowered the abs unit .750 and moved it .500 towards the rad at a angle :hurray: :hurray: :hurray: :hurray: :hurray: finally i am about 60 percent finished in 11 hours
Re: pics from vortech install DAY 1 (Rollin Black)
some more pics available..............been doing lots of fabricating today....some things just dont fit like i think they should....i bought a assotment of molded hose to redo the ps pump and the coolant tank different than the way that vortech recommends....120.00 in hose later i am satisfied :D all that is left to do is the aftercooler and its rad with all the plumbing(here we go again ...reinventing the wheel  )and the 42lb injectors.................we will see soon how good Johans(predator) custom tune is gonna work
I didn't like the way that Vortech wanted some of the hoses run either. I ended up buying various molded hoses too so that I could route the hoses my way. I also covered some of the hoses with black split loom (like Chevy did on some hoses) so reduce the possibility of abrasion damage at certain points.
