Default I need a little help....

I was on another board(SVT board.....gotta represent and defend) and one joker says that the magnusson boosted cars will not get you 100hp. He also mentions a procharged car not making even 380rwhp. He is talking dyno graphs the whole bit. So if you guys could just read the thread below and educate the boy a little bit. I would appreciate it. His name is Silver03Snake. He gets a little personal with me so I need a little help shuttin' the dude up. You will have to register to access the thread I think. It is in a members only area. Thanks in advance.

Some of the BS to get you started.......

"my friend has a 97 vette with a procharger at 5lbs of boost and exhaust. now i have a 2003 cobra with a steeda CAI and stinger exhaust. i know i have to swap pulleys, but what size? what will i need to beat him?"

That was the original thread starter.....fair question.

Silver03snake says......"He said it only had exhaust and the PC. That car will not be running 380 rwhp at 5 psi........"................and then.........."
But this is a stock engine with just 5 psi. 5 psi. That aint going to put up 100 HP on a 300 rwhp car. Aint goin to happen. 1 psi may get you 15 rwhp if your'e lucky. You do the math. One of the reason the guys running 5 psi is because he is smart. He's probably got a safe tune and he's satisfied with the power. "

... trash talkin' never ends... go to the Honda boards and the shiat just gets deeper. Lotta great guys over there on the SVT board... just like there are here :) But no matter where you type there is always somebody that knows more than you... and he has a beer in one hand and one hand typing with the other. Trash talkin' is good cheap fun for the folks who have nothing to lose and all the time in the world ;)

Well,
comparing an apple to orange on our MD1750 dyne
Base 97 Corvette 260ish rwhp/ Procharged 5-6psi 380rwhp
Base 03 Cobra 31x rwhp/ Pully, catback, CAI, tune 400rwhp

Weight 3500# C5
3800# 03 cobra
Both suck going down the track, but inhearantly we fine the 03 getting down the track a bit better than c5's.

I dont think I would bet on either...

Phil

I'm willing to educate him firsthand... :reddevil

After all, a friend with a Procharged 95 Cobra at 14 psi hasn't been able to keep up yet. I'm willing to give an 03 a try. :D
