Default Will disconnecting the battery mess up program?

I just came back from a deployment and had disconnected the battery prior to leaving because I didn't know how long I would be gone. By doing this, will it mess up my programming that was done when I had the ATI SC installed? I haven't had the chance to get the car out from storage yet to check.

No, the programming will be fine. It is in ROM so power loss has no affect on it.

You're right, but technically it's not in ROM, it's in NVRAM (non-volatile RAM). ROM of course would indicate that you can't change the program.

Thanks, I guess that I just assumed that it was in a flash ROM of some sort.

No problem, you're not really wrong. It's really just semantics. Some people call NVRAM flash ROM and vice versa, but in its strictest sense, ROM is read only memory. Nonetheless computer guys have managed to come up with the concept of EPROM (extended programmable ROM) which to me is an oxy moron because you're basically saying the memory is writeable but also read only...
