Hey guys. I've been talking with Nate from Corvette Garage about the TTi stage 2 twin turbo system. He's thinking that this system might even be a little cheaper than the stage 1! If it is (which I certainly hope it is), it will be under $6500.00! I guess there will be less plumbing and one intercooler. I hope Nate doesn't get mad for me coming out with this before the system is out on the market. I'm hoping to build a forged 348 and lay on the boost. :smash:

Based on what I know...Stage II is more moeny for sure...
But, down the road there will be a stage III. This is for big cube motors. The intent is to use a more generic off the shelf turbo that doent require 1k in special secondary operations. So it is possible that a stage III may oddly enough be the same price or similar. That being said, this setup will probably not be good for stock motor guys as they will spool very late on the street.
I think the cost of each Turbo is $1400..so right there you are looking at $3000. Then there is all the other stuff, which could add up to another $3500. However these are probably Jobber Prices..total cost of kit being $6500. Does that include larger fuel injectors and fuel pump?
When I purchased my kit Nate made me the deal when he was at Xtreme. I got in on the group purchase and ended up paying about 6200 for the TTi Stage I....(my total cost was $8200 if I remember right) basically he sold me everything and 5 others at his cost. But the labor is what really gave the big price break!
I would buy the Stage II knowing that I would eventually do other work. KingPin's car is a great example of a H&C stock short block setup. His CR has been lowered by the Heads..he has a spec'd Turbo cam. He is making over 500/500 + at the rear in Hp/TQ.
Let me just add something here that I feel is very important...very important. A lot of you guys might not have every driven a very high hp car or even more significant a sports car that has more TQ than HP. TQ is what moves you...hp is a calculation of TQ multiplied by RPM. When you buy a car most the time it will have more HP than TQ...it is the other way around with a Turbo car...a few cases have higher hp than tq.
My point is.....when you get at this 500/500+ mark...there are no tires that will hold the 1, 2, 3 gears past part throttle. A turbo car starts making torque right at the lowest rpm it spools at..in the TTi stage I case around 1800rpms in the TTi stage II around 2300 rpms. I have 335 size tires.....over 1/2" wider than a 295 size tire....they are useless at anything over part throttle...it takes some practice to drive...the main thing is...this is what I tell my wife when she drives the car...shift at 2000 rpms. So yesterday we switched cars at a local gas station..a bunch of construction guys are sitting around checking her out and the car...its understandable...and she takes off..and as she is driving a way...I hear the rpms swing..and a prompt "whoa" from the construction guys..and my head turns just in time to see the butt end of my car swing out.....THANK GM for Tracktion Control!
Anyway I have not even turned the boost controller on once since I have gotten the car back 3 weeks ago...why..because the regular boost setting puts down over 500/500 hp/tq and it is plenty if not more than enough for street tires...I guess if you want to find somebody and race them in 4th gear than you might notice an extra 80 hp...but you will never miss it in the first 3 gears. This is my honest opinion and is not biased towards any of the Turbo FI applications mentioned here..just live feedback from the real world.
I think all the Turbo owners on here not matter which kit they have can attest to this..please chime in if you do not experience this with your application.
Peace!
