Re: Can Vortech be used with big cid engine (av8or3)
Thanks for the input. All of the possibilities for a new combo is making my brain hurt. It seems like going with a big cube engine is something that will give a big increase in power and not cause any problems with emissions compliance.
Re: Can Vortech be used with big cid engine (Slammed Vette)
I also thought about a procharger unit but you have to keep in mind that I have to have a CARB approved blower to pass emissions here in Oregon. The simplist way to make more power would be to just add more inches. There should be nothing to raise any red flags to the inspectors as long as it doesn't throw any codes. The thing that has me worried is that since I don't think I can put headers on it (again I have to have the CARB # and keep the pup cats on) Would the exhaust just choke the engine. The factory setup on the ZO6 flows pretty well so I'm not sure. There are just really a lot of things to consider here. All I know is I need more power. It seems like everywhere you turn there is a ricer with an intercooler the size of a suitcase hanging off the front of their car. Even Dodge trucks are coming from the factory with 500 horsepower. Too many opportunities to get embarrassed.
