Default Misc. Nitrous Install Questions

I just received my used dry kit <http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=766036> and everything seems to be in good order. Actually having the parts in my hand raises a few questions:

The valve assembly was not screwed in tight to the bottle, I'm assuming to show that it was empty for shipping. Do I need teflon paste or loctite on it and anyone know the torque?

The wires on the Nitrous works fuel and purge noids that came with the kit are large 12 gauge wire but the wires on the NOS N2O noids are like 18 gauge and the 5177 install manual says to use at least 14 gauge wires. Seems odd that the wires off the relay are 10-12 and the noids are so small. Are everyone elses NOS noid wires this tiny?

The supply hose is only 14'. 4' short of the 18' that comes with the standard 5177 kit. It looks like the 14' will not be enough. Anyone know a good place to get another ~4' of 4AN line and AN fittings? Will SS brake hose work?

There is teflon tape used on a lot of the NPT fittings. I guess I will need to take everything apart and clean all the threads and re-assemble with teflon paste.
