Default Mag Question

Guys,
I'm strongly considering buying a used magnacharger. The guy who has it owns a 02 Z06, and I've got a 99 Coupe-

Question, will it work or is the kit for 02/LS6 diferent? I thought I'd ask first before calling LPE to find out the diferences, if any.

Another question- I've looked over and over again at the install instrucs and I'm conviced this should not be much harder than an intake manifold swap. I'd like to have it tuned on the dyno, but will be over 100 miles from any tuner that can help. Is there any way to do the install but still drive it to the tuner?

Lastly, is the stock fuel pump ok or am I better off going to ractronix or even a KB boost a pump?

Thanks in advance,
Dave

Default Re: Mag Question (bandit_99)

The only difference betwen the Mag for a 2002 car versus a 99 is the fuel block for the 2002 is setup for 1 fuel line and the one for the 99 would actually need 2. I also bought my Magnacharger used and the fuel block had 2 openings in it so I called Magnacharger and bought the correct fuel block, so if you buy this you can do the same thing I did.

As far as driving on the stock tune, you can but you will need to use your stock fuel injectors for the drive to the tuner and do not get into the boost with the stock injectors, so take it easy on the drive. When you get to the tuner you can put te 42# injectors in

The Boost-a-pump and racetronix are great pumps but they are not necessary with the nonintercooled Magnacharger, I've had my supercharger for 10,000 miles now and I'm still on my stock fuel pump.

I have heard the stock fuel pump is fine as long as you are not going to be cranking out over 500 hp. So I have heard, only hearsay.

Good info. Thanks.

So you can drive with the stock injectors, just like Andy suggests with his ATI set up.

This is key, because I thought I'd have to buy a predator or send my PCM to Fred Wright or something -

runamuck,
Do you remember what you paid for the fuel block and where you got it?

'99 has only 1 fuel line, it's the 97-98 that have 2 fuel lines.

I didn't realize the 99 only had 1 fuel line but if you need any Magnacharger parts just call the people at Magnuson and they will sell you what you need and won't gouge you for it either.
