Default How much boost should I run with this setup?

I got a great deal on a procharger kit with everything but the actual blower itself. I didn't get the blower yet, but first I need to know which one to get. I have the twin intercooled version, that normally goes with the p1sc. I heard you can use either the p1sc or d1sc. Whats the difference? And my other question is how much boost should I run. I have slp loudmouth as an only mod. I want a good hp increase, but want to stay safe and reliable. I don't really plan on doing anymore mods for a good while after that. Thanks.

D1 or P1 depends on what your ultimate goals are. I have been talking with A and A Andy for a few weeks now and he told me:

If you can live with 500hp - and don't plan to go beyond- P1.
If you plan to up the boost and expect to forge your bottom end, etc. go with the D1.

Other folks with actual experience will offer you better advice.

The D1SC puts out 2-3 more psi than the P1SC, so get it and a larger pulley and limit boost to 7-8 PSI as others have indicated, otherwise kaboom$$$!
Contact Andy at AandACORVETTE.COM for the rest of what you need-he has new/used D1SC's.
You will probably want more boost in a year (week?) or so-so get the Big D!
That way you won't be buying another bigger blower later!
Upgrade your fuel system and get a good dyno tune so you know you are not lean on the top end!
Good luck
Roy

Get the bigger D1 SC and everything else Andy recomends. Trust me a day will come when your SC Vette starts feeling slow and you'll want more...ALOT more!!!

Good Luck and Enjoy the BOOST!

According to an ATI tech I talked to a while back, the P1SC can have a better power curve than the D1SC under certain conditions. I'm not sure to what extent that's true or not, but I think what he was trying to say was that assuming low boost and a stock motor, the P1SC would outperform the D1SC. Probably has something to do with the different impeller design.

If it was me, I would buy a D1 and run a stock size pulley. I upgraded from a P1 to a D1 with the exact same set-up, huge difference. This also gives you the chance for more power in the future. With stock pulley I'm making 7-8 lbs. and on cool nights a little more.

Good luck.

I have a P1 and D1 extras. I now have another p1Sc b/c w/headers,3" mIdsectionX-pipe,and Ghls;Bottom an d Internals stock; The car runs harder and respose smoother with the P1 all the time.
The d1 is for an altered internal heads.

I might sell the extra D1 and P1.

I'm stock other than headers and there was probably 2lbs. different from just changing from P1 to a D1. The car is far more responsive on the low end with the D1 and pulls much harder on the top end.

Good luck with your project.
