hey guys.. i am strongly considering getting nos for my car.. but i wanna know wat the car can take as in a safe shot wise for street use.. 100 shot ?.. please let me know thanks
I'm having a 100 dry-shot NOS installed by Andy when he gets settled in a couple of weeks from now. Rumours has it that the dry kit is hard to tune right and not have it run too lean. Figured I'll try it and if it doesn't work right I will just get a fogger and convert to a wet setup.
I bought my setup from Sexi FRC here on the board complete for $475!
I am running a 125hp dry shot (tuning problems is just rumors) with stock 28.6 lb injectors. You could even go 150hp dry on '97/98's because of the bigger injectors and better fuel system, but make sure you use auto tap for safety. Without Auto Tap or tuning, stick with 100 dry to start with.
Check this out for 5177 info http://home.ican.net/~jsetter/nitrous.html
It's "The Colonel's N2O Tech Files" it will put you at ease using the 5177 dry kit, remember when he say's the year of a car he is talking F-body, but other than that, it appplies.
