I have nx 10# bottle and on the label it says "tank and gas = 24.5#", "tank = 14.5#", "gas = 10#". is that correct? I had my bottle filled yesterday and paid for 10# but it only weighs 23# now. did they short me?
Dig times........I would go back. I allways weight my bottle my self in my house, then I get them to weight for me before and after.....(Allways ask them the weight before and after) then they will be more carefull about trying to short you.
just called and said "howdy, I had my bottle filled up yesterday and weighed it today--it's a couple pounds shy. I've had it in the freezer for a few hours now, would it be alright if I brought it by and tried to squeeze a bit more to top it off? the girl who picked it up for me mentioned you said the last couple pounds were difficult to get in."
he said no problem--he was losing pressure because his main bottle was getting low, offered to credit me or try to top it off when his refill arrives. no argument or anything.
I always take my scale with me. That way if a problem I won't have to return. Because of this, the last time they only had 8#'s in my 15# bottle, but did not get away with it because they knew I had scale. It was a different speed shop, my usual was out, so it paid off having scale in car.
I have 2 N20 bottles i use in my Impala SS. I only get about 2 passes and the bottle is under 5lbs and not worth ET wise to run on it again. So im always taking 2 half full bottles in to be filled.
I took one of the half full bottles and put it in the freezer and the other on my bottle heater and heated it up to about 1200 psi. Connect both bottles to each other. Hold the heated bottle up side down with the cold bottle on the floor, Open the heated bottle and then open the cold bottle and WALLA
You have one full bottle out of two half full ones!
Sorry if youd already herd this i just found out a month ago and its AWSOME!

I don't see how this would work. If there is a siphon tube in the upside-down heated bottle it would likely be above the nitrous level and wouldn't be able to get any liquid N2O into the cold bottle.

If you freeze a sealed environment the n20 becomes more dense and creates a vaccuum. If you heat a nitrous bottle, the nitrous becomes less dense and will take up more space in the bottle (hence increased pressure when you are heating).
