centrafugal vs. roots type blowers
ive nailed it down to supercharging on my next C5, but i dont know whether to get the magnuson magna charger (roots typer) or the ATI procharger. the ATI seems to be making better power, but the Magnusson has more power earlier.
basically this is a street car that i might take out to a track like buttonwillow or something like that. im going to drive it everyday and id like to avoid a blower with a lot of problems.
input is greatly appreciated. and opinions are valued, especially with people who have either of these set ups.
PS. its a 6 speed manual and i want to do some more upgrades to the engine after i strap the blower on, so that might affect the one i buy as well.

There's lots of good opinions here and no clear answer. But, to toss in another opinion, I'd say in large part it depends on where you think you'll stop on desire for horsepower. Of course, if you don't think you will stop, then that's another matter altogether.
Stopping near or below 500 rwhp, intercooled Magnuson.
Stopping above 500 rwhp, ATI (or Vortech).
There's plenty of other considerations, but when it's all said and done, it seems like power desire, and the cost and other burdens that go with it, make for nice guidelines.
Good luck, and have fun.

Here's everything I've ever been able to come up with as arguments for/against the various types:
