I have a 98 LS1 and have the ATI P-1SC, on my last trip to the dyno I made 460rwhp on a mustang dyno with 8.2 lbs of boost.
We limited the rpm to 6150 because on a prior run we saw 9lbs of boost at 6300.
Now my tuner kept it a safe tune with an 11.7 AFR and only 17 deg of spark, but now I wondering if we should have let it run up to 6300 with the safe tune.
I have all stock internals and an A4 with 3.42 axle.
Looking for guys who have had experience with this level of boost on stock internals.
Turned mine to 6400 to get the numbers in my sig but i don't drive it that hard. I rarly take it past 6000 just to be safe, it is still making about 525 to the wheels at that rpm. Keep it on the safe side.
Re: Safe boost levels for stock block (corvettebob1)
Time to remove 'Ed Wright programming' from your sig if APE did a full dyno tune. Looks like you have a very sweet ride. What type of 1/4 mile ET/MPH are you able to run with your mods?
Don't know yet, just got it done last week kinda hard to run in the rain.
Last year before the headers and exhaust mods and pulley change I ran 12.30 @ 118mph on runflats with a 2.6 60' with the traction control on!
Oh and the belt was slipping so I never saw 7lbs of boost
SOP feel with tires it will be in the 10's around 125 mph easy.
Re: Safe boost levels for stock block (SleepieAce)
That's kind of what I thought, but you know what the sickness brings on..........
Guess I'll just keep it where it is for now.
Thanks for the response's
With the stock internals leave the RPM where it's at. 9 psi will be tempting fate, especially if you plan to track it a lot.
