My brackets are the cheap aluminum ones with the long bolts. Oddly they are the same height. Now I hear there should be an angle to the bottle, so I used some washers, and it helped a little. However, how do you get a good angle and still have it fit under the cover? Also, should the nitrous feed line be pointing down?
You want to acheive a 45 degree angle for the brackets. Yes, you need the bottle feed pointing down. You see inside the bottle is a dip tube. It is hard to descibe what it looks like. I does not go all the way down to the bottom of the bottle. It kind of goes down and curves at an angle. When your bottle is at a 45 degree angle valve pointing down, the dip tube will be at its optimal position.
there is your problem right there. A bottle will not mount the most efficiant way in the rear cargo compartment. The bottle has to be turned sideways to fit in there. To get the most out of the bottle it needs to be facing with the turn know facing forward that way whe you take off it forces all the nitrous towards the back and bottom of the bottle. You can turn the valve inside the bottle so that when it is in the rear comartment it will catch all the nitrous. That is what I did, still have to have the bottle sideways though.
How do you guys get 45 degrees and still fit on the center storage lid?
You can't. Although 45 degrees is ideal, you can get away with as little as 10 degrees. I took the valve off of my bottle, broke the siphon tube loose and fit it back into the bottom of the valve so that the opening of the siphon tube was positioned correctly when the bottle was angled in the back. Be sure and use green locktite when you put the siphon tube back in.
How hard is it to turn the valve, and other then running out faster, what is the problem with sideways and less then 45deg.? I'm going to get a new bracket that tilts it more, and make a custom cover if I have to. Should I still move this tube? Any tips? Thanks.

According to Nitro Dave.. The NX bottles at least.. have a curved tube that goes to one side of the bottle.
Well, I got some NOS brackets, and it angels the bottle, but will not fit under the stock cover (plan to make a new one). Will this give me better/more use out of the bottle?
You should be able to get some angle on the bottle. I also cut the aluminum brackets from the bottom side of the cover to gain another inch or so. It will fit. I am able to get all but the last 1 lb from my bottle. I know beacuse I ran out the other night and weighed it. You can check out my pics in my NXL post.

I had to use the lower bracket for the top bracket and discard the top bracket. I also took of the valve and positioned the siphon tube to the ideal location with the bottle valve laying flat. http://winters.dyndns.org/images/cor...ous/bottle.jpg
It should also be mounted with the top of the bottle nearer the front of the car, I still need to change that.
