Probably a dumb question! Can you supercharge a Solid Roller Motor?
A post over in the dyno section of LS1tech comments on a 346 c.i. solid roller making nearly 500 rwhp. Can you supercharge such a motor? Obviously you would not use some of the same part choices he did. But I would think a low compression SR would be a great base for a SC.

Having a solid roller doesn't rule out a supercharger. However, getting that kind of Hp out of a stock bore/stroke motor probably means huge lift, lots of overlap, and very high static compression. You don't want lots of overlap and compression on a supercharged motor.

A good supercharger cam for the street should have a relative minimum of overlap comensurate with proper scavenging at street RPM's, and lots of area under the lift curve without excessive duration.
A solid roller will do that best.
Downside, more valve train noise, necessity to readjust necessary valve clearance periodically, possibly having to address knock sensor sensitivity issues, and perhaps reliability issues due to the the comparatively higher valve spring rates.
A low compression solid roller lifter engine could indeed be a great base for a FI engine, or N2O!
