OOPS! I did it again......
Back on Friday I spoke with Chris @ ECS to find out how my D1-SC install was coming along, unfortunately there were a few tidbits missing from Andy's kit that they needed to fab up. Hooo well.
Anyhow we got into a discussion about my WEAK 2.73's and one thing led to another and so now they're installing an SS3600 T/C with a new 3.42 diff.
Then, I call on Sat. for a progress report as I was hoping to pickup the car on Sunday. Chris noticed that the Vette was still running factory exhaust manifolds! THIS CAN'T BE!!!
So, Chris delicately suggests that since the bottom of the car was pretty clear from doing the T/C install and running the wiring up for the Racetronix FP...... I quote "we could do a set of Kook's LT's for a real good price since we're already here, what do you think Mike?" Uhhh-huh.
Anyhow, the car should be ready in the next couple of days with the completed D1-SC kit, Racetronix installed, NGK TR6 plugs, check valve, 160* T-stat, 48lbs. injectors, SS3600 T/C & 3.42's, and now FINALLY (I hope) a set of 1-3/4" Kook's LT headers with Random Tech cat-pipe dumping into my existing Corsa Indy exhaust.
I'm going to wait till I "think" the car is finished before calling there again!! The spousal-unit is going to have me sleeping in the car if I keep this up.
Whatta you guys think of this setup? Any thoughts what the dyno #'s are going to be with a conservative tune? How will this exhaust effect the sound out the back?
Too true! You may have noticed the new/improved ($$ less) sig in my posts? I just couldn't leave a paper trail any longer. Which reminds me.... I need to update it yet again! And I haven't even gotten the car back from the first round of mods started just a week ago.
Any more answers to my questions about power estimates/sound from the LT's and lastly correct pipe diameter selection? Thanks to all!
A blower + a good set of pipes is the best sound you can have while cruising around town (IMHO). Turbos sound better at WOT, but you just can't beat the blower at part throttle.
Don't get too caught up with the dyno #s. The autos will always dyno quite a bit lower, but you make up for it on the street by keeping the boost up during shifts.
correct pipe diameter selection? Are you talking about the LTs. If so, that discussion is overrated. I would not worry about a few lbs of tq if you are making this much power, you will be fine with all those LTs.
Good luck.

I don't really care what the car dyno's out at..... Just so long as it's a CONSERVATIVE tune that will give me some terrific driving experiences.

Its a small step up to the F-1 blower, bigger injectors, a boost pump for the fuel, a little more rear-end. Lets see now I have Doug taking weight out here and there. Maybe next is the 225 heads, the fast intake vs the LS6,and even bigger throttle body than the BBK 80MM. I have the Kooks now and got rid of the TPIS. Came clean with the spouse. That feels good but makes it more of a challenge to do more below the radar.

I just about the same as you do, a little more here & little more there when it comes to these darned car mods.
Nice step -up you will be scary fast with the high stall. Traction will be a huge problem. But it will be a Blast.
