CAT Question.....
Ok I have a ATI kit and running 5#, right now I have the CATS on and a friend of mine suggested that I remove them to help move the exhuast out and keep from getting blow by.
My question is will this bleed boost off or make more?
Also do you recommend running cats? i am not goin for big power numbers I jsut wanna keep it reliable...

Re: CAT Question..... (C5kid)
Lots of guys get rid of the precats, but removing them completely I don't like. Really exhausty smelling when u sit at the lights. I have high flow cats installed.

Racer44 has no cats, same setup as me...same boost levels. In fact he might be 1/2lb less then me.
We have just about identical #'s.

Re: CAT Question..... (C5kid)
How would the cats have anything to do with crankcase pressure and blowby? I can think of a possible relationship, but it is not direct.
BTW, boost does not = power. If you take off the cats and boost drops you are still making more power. Increase in CFM/airflow = more power.

Re: CAT Question..... (QuickSilver2002)
Catco makes some pretty cheap cats that fit in the stock location.
The boost will kick up a tad due to less backpressure, keep an eye on the boost gauge when you do it.
