This will all be purchased through and installed by Xtreme Motorsports in Tempe, AZ and will all be installed at the same time. Fire away with opinions/criticisms.
Oh no. I'm having BOTH packages put in. First the forged bottom with the H/C package and all the goodies. THEN the A&A D1SC. As for the vehicle itself.. eventually it's going to basically be a SHOW&GO car.
Well... the parts have been ordered and my car will soon be in the very capable hands of Bill @ Xtreme Motorsports. Bill has been nothing short of awesome so far, even going the "extra mile" and offering to take pictures of the whole process so that I can later post pictures. Cant wait to see their handiwork in action.
It has the makings of a real BEAST, but if it were mine, I'd change the ported LS1 heads to ported 6 liters. This would lower the compression more, and give you the benefit of LS6 style ports. you could really crank the boost then to whatever the ATI/A&A pulleys could handle. Good Luck and Drive Safely!
BEAST may even be an understatement for this car!! If I were doing a set of heads/cam.... I'd be shopping AFR. Hopefully, when I am in the market the 225's will be ready. For now it may be worth looking into a set of 205's??
Ok. So this portion of the project is pretty much complete. The exhaust still needs to be put on and theres a minor belt-slip issue at redline thats going to be addressed through a bracket modification. As it stands it dyno'd at 608rwhp and 518rwtq. We'll see what the new numbers are after the slip issue is resolved and the GHL Magnum is installed.
Stage II LS1 heads will flow at least as well as standard AFR 205's. Considering you will have a forged bottom-end and a blower cam running a D1SC with a small pulley I wouldn't bother spending $2,500 - $3,000 on heads. You'll have 600 rwhp with your setup without even leaning on it..

I fully agree with Mark
Get a nice set of 6.0 heads ported and you will see even larger MONSTER numbers.
Jon
Got the final dyno results from Xtreme. This was dyno'd with the stock exhaust as we havent gotten around to putting on the GHL Magnum yet but I'll let Bill's work speak for itself.
So Bill.. whats the next step to get closer to 700rwhp??

more power?... you'll need more fuel, o-ring heads, main studs/girdle, and an F1 head unit If you find your new found power boring come back and see me... I'll scare up some more for ya Thanks for your business Chris... we really appreciate it. I just can't wait to see the project completed with the all new interior, exterior paint, and a nice brake/wheel/tire package to tuck under that freshly tubbed rear end
Wow!!! Those pictures are awesome. All 47 of them. After looking at every picture, I feel like I was there watching the entire install. Looks like its going to be fun.
For those that are like me and enjoy watching video clips of Vette's im posting a link to a short 4min video my good friend Jonathan put together for me. He's taking care of my car while i'm away and is handling all the leg work on getting the modifications done to it. I'm sure all the work he's put in is a fair trade off for having the opportunity to make a video like this. The zip file is roughly 45megs. You can download it here. You may need the latest DivX 5 driver to view the video.
Good job Jonathan
p.s.
please ignore the condition of the paint as well as the rear end (yes i know its cracked) as that will be remedied as soon as the interior is finished.
