Not only that, but didn't East Coast Supercharging win last year's Corvette Challenge with...... A supercharged Vette? How's 9.70's in the 1/4 mile grab ya?

This was a NOS and S/C configuration.
I do believe a member on this forum is in the 9's with just the S/C - but you are also talking heads, cam, etc...
I think it really depends - if you want something for the drag strip - n20 will be the best bang for the buck and a quicker setup.
If you are road racing - the s/c is better as you have the power all the time and it comes on gradually which is key coming out of turns and such.
n2o has a cool factor as well, and it is more stealth.... but i do like the whistle of my procharger, even though most think there is something wrong with the car.
You will still end up with the same things breaking, wether it is the output shaft or clutch issues - it just may go sooner with the n20 because of the jolt of power.
... FI is expensive to get started with... FI power is not all that impressive at the drag strip...
Everything about going fast is expensive, that's just how it is. How are we defining 'impressive at the drag strip' ?? One of our local CF guys has gone 11.15 @ 125 with his D1 and low boost. Forge the motor, swap the pulley (to make more boost) and you could easily run 10's.
In regards to FI not performing impressivly at the track, I would love to see some empirical data on this.
Just look at how many blower cars post 1/4 mile times and then look at how many nitrous cars post them, and then compare (if you can get enough blower cars ET's)
Forge the motor, swap the pulley (to make more boost) and you could easily run 10's.

sure u can forge the motor, but thats another 3grand for a forged short block. i have the n20 for now. but if i wanted a supercharger theres 5grand then 3grand for forged internals and who nows what for labor. so for nitrous its dirt cheap
