Hi all.
I am getting very close to pulling the trigger on a S/C setup. I was thinking gears, but after seeing the numbers/performace/drivability of a few other forum members, I think I am going to go S/C and leave the gears alone...until they break at least
Here is my question, on the A&A setup, does the blower make boost at higher rpms when off throttle. I would think that the blower still moves the air and it just goes out a BOV or is there some kind of by-pass
Does the S/C "drag" while cruising? How durable are these blower units, say I drag a few times a month in the summer and drive it (not a daily driver) like a Vette should be driven on the street
What are the little irritating problem issues
Will this kit even work with my 2004 fuel system
I know much more about turbos than S/C's and need some education and knew I could come here, you all are the best there is
Also, I looked at the install directions and it does not look too bad with the exception of pinning the crank. How long is a realistic expectation for me and a friend (both of us know how to turn a wrench) to install this thing. Can it be done in a weekend in my garage on jack stands?
And one final question, how much should I expect to pay LPE or DTE for a good tune, or has anyone had good luck with the mail-a-tune from A&A. Thanks again everyone for your help

I had andy's kit on my car and have to agree with everyone on this forum that it is the best kit. I did not have any problems as I was using it as a daily driver. But I also drove it the way it was suppose to be driven. I did not have any problems or surging at high rpm cruising. If you drive it normal your passanger would not even know it exists. The car ran like it was stock unless, you get on it. The concept is very similar to a turbo, becouse you are using a Blow Off valve for unused boost.
The install is pretty straight forward and can be complete in 1 long day of work. You will need a welder to relocate the radiator a little forward and tilted back a bit for the clearance of the intake of the supercharger.
I would not do the gears for know, the supercharger is too much already.
I say go for it, buckle up, and hold on. I made 486 rwhp on a complete stock vette with A&A kit. FAST
Good Luck

But the last place you should chinse is on the tune. Get yourself a qualified tuner to dyno tune the engine. If you run lean at all, say bye bye to the engine.

I did see one question that has gone unanswered. Will it work with the 04 fuel system? Yes. A KB BAP (Kenne Bell Boost A Pump)is all that is needed. I regularly make 520-540 RWHP with that system. I believe that is the limit, though.
I have one 04 that is making close to 700 RWHP but that took a lot of work to get it fueled. Dual pumps, return lines, 3/4"crossover lines, adjustable regulator, fuel cooler, etc. etc. If I had an 04, I'd be resigned to the fact that 520 - 540 is the limit, for now.

It is a great kit! Just put one on my Z a couple weeks ago and have been having fun with it. It runs like stock until you want to go to boost and according to my boost gauge it will not have boost unless you are at WOT.

Thanks for all of the responses everyone and thanks Andy for jumping in on the 2004 fuel issue
Thanks Smooth for the ECS angle, but I am pretty comfortable with the way I have seen Andy work on this board and all of the positive references he has. When it comes time I am going to send some of my hard earned cash his way. Wish me luck installing this thing though

Here is an idea. For 03-04 vettes with the new fuel system, Andy's P1 or D1 kit with Kenne Bell Boost-A-Pump and 100 - 150 Direct Port Shot on top of that... That's supposed to get you up to 690-700 RWHP in theory... Would that work?
